The awards were presented on 20th October at a glittering banquet at the Emperors Palace in Kempton Park, Johannesburg, and was attended by 440 guests. The venue was huge and a stage was built that incorporated 4 reverse projection screens. The MC for the evening was Keith Pearson.

The PACSA Packaging Achiever for 2009 was Bowler Metcalf's Horst Sass.
