“Some people just see things differently”

Vision - “Some people just see things differently” this was the theme for this year’s IPSA Gold Pack Awards programme. 207 entries were received from packaging converters and users

Judging was held 0n the 1, 2 and 3 August at the Assegay Hotel in Shongweni outside Durban in KwaZulu-Natal, and the panel of judges included professionals from the industry:

The awards were presented on 30th October at a glittering banquet at the Emperors Palace in Kempton Park, Johannesburg, and was attended by 500 guests. The venue was huge and a stage was built that incorporated 5 reverse projection screens that were 3 x 4 metres in size. The MC for the evening was Malcolm Gooding. 120 awards in all were presented.

The PACSA Packaging Achiever for 2007 was IPSA Chairman and WPO President Keith Pearson.

The Gold Pack committee entered 28 packs on behalf of the requested winners, an received 14 World Stars Awards, a record.

A glittering banquet which included a 2 screen video presentation was held at the Holiday Inn Strand Street, Cape Town for 480 guests.  Mc for the evening was Malcolm Gooding

Packaging Achiever of the year for 2005 was awarded to Ray Crewe-Brown, CEO of Astragal.

Several of this year’s winners also entered into the World Packaging Organisation’s World Stars competition and were awarded World Stars.  See list of winners.
