1985

This year’s Awards Programme was sponsored by Specialised Exhibitions.

55 entries were received from 32 companies.

The function was once again held at the Durban Country Club with 120 guests present. The Guest Speaker was to have been Professor Simpson of the Graduate School of Business, University of Cape Town but due to laryngitis, he was replaced at the last minute by Peter Naude also of the Graduate School of Business who read Professor Simpson’s prepared speech.

This was the first time for the presentation of the Packaging Review Trophy in recognition of Excellence of Production.

1987 "In the bag"

The theme for this year’s Awards programme was: "In the Bag".

The programme was sponsored by Specialised Exhibitions. A record number of entries was received - 91 in total and 46 awards were made.

The Awards dinner was held at the Durban Country Club with Prof J.D. Simpson, Director of the Graduate School of Business, U.C.T. and Dean of the faculty of Commerce as Guest of Honour.

The cost of the dinner was R30.00 per head.

This year a new category, namely "Limited Edition Packs" was introduced to cater for packs with higher quality parameters than conventional production packaging. A BRONZE plaque was also introduced. Judges special awards were made to a few packs.
